Welcome!

The Log House website was created by Jim and Sheila Kennard in 2002, after they emigrated to New Zealand. There was a need to keep friends and family around the world in touch with our adventures in a new land, as we searched for and established our new home, with dogs and cat in tow. The quickest and easiest way to keep the globally scattered family in touch was to establish a website where pictures and news of our progress could be added daily, though this site started under a different name. The site continued after buying our new home, a log house, which was considered the ideal name for a permanent web-site!

This site includes the occasional open letters from us, as well as photographic records of our adventures, travels, the finding and improving our new home, visitors and pictures of our children and grandchildren.

There are also pages that include details of our newly established Bed & Breakfast facilities to allow others to enjoy the beauty and peace of a log house in the New Zealand countryside, a few pages about our llamas, advising which ones are from time to time for sale, and some details on what Jim and Sheila do with their time, when the demands of the house and gardens give them time off! Soon to be added will be details of the Log House Tranquil Retreat where the tired and weary seeking peaceful respite can come and chill for a few days. Watch this space!

For more detail and to navigate around this site, please click on any of the buttons above. Or if you are already familiar with the site and just want toc heck up on waht is new, just click on the What's New!!! button to the left.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our site and, if you want to get in touch with us, whether to know more about emigrating to New Zealand, bed and breakfast vacancies, taking a tranquil break, our llamas, or just because you want to, we would love to hear from you.
